What a nice rainy day… Enjoy the rain because I don’t have to run… Post Bluenose Marathon part II

It has been wonderful not having to run over the last couple day’s. I don’t think I could if I tried… My hips ache along with my knees and hamstrings… It is the first time I have had hip pain following a marathon… Could that be from the hills? Up or down?

Another interesting phenomenon that occurred during this marathon, I just passed the 33k marker and my fourth toe on my right foot started to ache?? I thought, what is this??? I still have not figured that one out yet. It doesn’t hurt any longer…

I did a couple of things different during this marathon as well; I tried to consume as much Gatorade as I could over the first 13.1 miles… Went through 2 – 8 ounce bottles which isn’t an extraordinary amount… I also consumed about 15 swedish berries and a big chunk of a Clif bar over the first 13.1 miles… Stuck with water at the Aid stations… Can’t say if this got me through the last half (which is more difficult and hilly then the first) or not…

I was just happy to have made it! Won’t be doing another one for a while….
