Week # 4, Month #1 Swimming, biking, running
Week #4
Ran 40 miles
Cycled 5.5 hours
Swam 4700 meters!
Didn’t stick to one of my swim workouts… Continually went further including a couple 800 meter continuous sets. What I did take from the week… Tiredness! I was exhausted when Sunday came around and unsure whether I would finish my 13 mile planned run. I made it!
Monthly totals for month 1;
Ran 151 miles
Cycled 18 hours
Swam 14000 meters
That swimming total is a little nuts… It has hard to imagine folks swimming 10-15000 meters a week…
The cycling, I still find it very manageable. After getting through the first hour, the others tend to go by quickly other than being a sweaty mess. It tends to make for quite an uncomfortable run afterwards, have to remember a change of shirts…
cheers
The swimming takes tIme. Doing repeats of 100’s and 200’s with 10-20 second breaks will help your endurance the most. I know it sounds crazy, but it works. Slowly increase your distance over time. To get to 15,000 a week requires swimming 5-6 times a week. You my not want that! You will get stronger even swimming 6000 meters or so a week! Great job.
WOW – impressive!
Wow. The running 40 miles is plenty for me! Can’t imagine adding the long swims and cycling, too. Kudos!
Impressive!
Wow!! Great totals!
During the training, what do you do to keep yourself from getting bored or mentally drained?
And after each training day, do you have any methods for recovery?
By the way, looks like you are doing an amazing job with training!
Reading those numbers is making me dizzy with triedness, but it is inspiring, so keep it up. Time for a cuppa…
Wow! You’re really covering some distances in all three sports!
I’m amazed you can type after all that….
Good job mate! :0)
See you can do it and still have fun 🙂
Wow, very impressive!
That’s some seriously solid training! Well done 🙂
Impressive. Totally admire your strength to deliver these miles, metres and hours of training 🙂
Wow your training is really impressive. It’s motivating and something to work towards!

Sounds like you are right on track! It’s fun (and practically exhausting) just to read about what training for an IM really looks like.
Impressive records! I’m looking up to be able to do something like this in the future. You seriously have insane endurance!
Managed to swim 1 km last week. You have my admiration!
Wow, I can’t imagine at all. I am trying to get to the gym 3 times a week to lift weights 1/2 an hour. It has been mostly happening for about 2 weeks. How do you have the tiime? Then again I can’t imagine running.
Great job!
